We're driven by the desire to share our premium products, connect people with the world of farming, and provide a direct link from our family farm to your kitchen table.
Our Farm
In 2015, we moved to this farmstead and have been making it our home, our own family farm. We're working diligently to make the most with the space we have. In addition to our our farm-direct meat business (Krogman Homegrown Meats), we also contract finish pigs and have a livestock transportation company.
It has long been a dream to work together as a family on our own farm. Each day brings new challenges and fresh opportunities to serve the agriculture community and the world around us.
Our Story
I, Julia, grew up on a farm with pigs when I was little and remember well my 2nd Grade 'show-and-tell' piglet racing around the classroom as children cheered. Later in addition to raising a variety of crops, my parents began raising Angus Beef Cows. Trips home from college always included walks in the pasture, Dad asking her to pick a favorite cow, a competition to see if she picked mom or dad's cow–or a completely different one! I learned the value of hard work & how to love and care for animals.
After completeing a college degree, living in Germany for a time and having other unfulfilling jobs, I'm so grateful to be able to find something I can truly be passionate about. The farm girl in me is happy to be back working in agriculture and inviting others to know a little more about what the American Farmer is up to.
Chad grew up milking cows, spending countless hours tending livestock & learning the ins and outs of animal care. He enjoyed visiting the neighbors pig barns as a child. A budding entrepreneur, Chad built a thriving custom bailing business during high school. His love for livestock & all things farming has only grown over the years.
Chad gained experience hauling hogs and cattle, working for other farmers, and serving as an applicator and agronomist for a local agronomy center. Now, building his own livestock trucking company & family farm is the beginnig of a long-held dream to farm.
Our first years of marriage were spent working various jobs in both customer service & agriculture and praying for the right opportunity to build our own family farm. We've raised beef for the last 13 years and are excited to be expanding. This is truly a family business. Our three young boys participate every day "helping" run the skid-loader, watching the gate while Chad beds cattle, chasing new pigs into the barn, helping clean or feed, and now helping out in the store. We're doing our best to train the next generation of family farmers!
God has blessed us with a beautiful home and farmstead, and we enjoy sharing the fruits of our labor with you!
